May 1, 2020 @ 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM CDT

Registrations are closed for this event.

Using the backward design model, UW Extended Campus instructional designers will demonstrate effective online course design and development practices when collaborating with faculty. Our presentation will introduce the audience to what backward design is, and its importance to the design and development process. By using backward design we ensure that courses are fundamentally sound, leading to student success. We will discuss best practices for alignment of objectives, assessments, and resources. The presentation will define and explain the roles and responsibilities of the instructional designer, faculty, and media representative. Examples of working documents will also be shared during the presentation.
